"This is an excellent dvd recorder. It works very well and with the one touch copy system transferring your home videos to dvd could not be easier. It has a lot more feature than I'll ever use, but it's nice to know that they are there. If I could fault the unit anywhere it would be with the instruction book which is not entirely clear in some areas, but once you start using the unit it's relatively easy to figur..." "Purchased this unit for the kidss VCR DVD collection. The unit was refurbished. The Unit would not power on manually or with remote. To get the unit to power on I had to insert VHS Tape, but even then it wouldn't send the feed to the TV. The unit also had a card reader, which was missing the protective door/cover. Very disappointing. Will try a new unit, may I'll have better luck...." Read Full Review »

"I've been using this unit for about two weeks now, using my DirecTV satellite receiver for input. It records and plays back beautifully; picture quality is excellent.
The only flaw I've found is that widescreen programming reverts to 4:3 aspect ratio, rather than letterboxing, when discs are played
