"Normal AA batteries are drained QUICK, so get yourself some rechargeable batteries asap.I personally take a lot of shots at night, so far I've been pretty impressed with what I can get out of this [$]camera! Up to 60 second exposure time is nice.Get a tripod! You'll definately wish you had if you don't, I didn't purchase one with this, but realized soon that I was gonna need it to get clearer shots. "It has an impressive number of modes to tailor the pictures to particular situations. It would be nice if there was a way to manually focus to create depth-of-field effects. I like the Leica lens; it takes very clear pictures (when the auto-focus doesn't do the wrong thing). "

"I love this camera. I like that I can use manual controls for tweaking the lighting. The auto and anti-shake features are great. The macro mode could be improved but works well. I like that you can push the optical zoom to 8x by lowering the pixal count. It also takes very good video. "
