"I agree with Muzzio, the battery grip has an issue with certain AA batteries. The AA's don't function correctly with this grip and as a result the battery info will lead to the red icon after a small amount of photos are taken (I'm using 1.4 firmware and I've used 4 different branded batteries plus different types, such as Alkaline, NIMH etc...). "Good battery holder. However, only if you used with two BLM-01 Lithium-Ion Battery. Do not even think about buying it for using it with AA batteries. It comes with an AA battery holder inside a wonderful plastic protective case (six needed to run the camera) but unfortunately, Olympus has not delivered on this one.
