You'll start your adventure by receiving one of 3 basic Pokemon from the professor. Journey through Hoenn gaining knowledge, training your Pokemon and earning badges, with the goal of becoming a Pokemon Master through collecting, battling and trading. Pokemon Sapphire offers more features than ever before: more sophisticated graphics on Game Boy Advance, more varied game play, and more than 100 new characters! The game includes two-on-two battle capabilities and a variety of battle modes. One player can take on two Pokemon simultaneously, and using a Game Boy Advance Game Link Cable, two players can control two Pokemon each, or four players can play one each, providing deeper and more strategic game play.
