"Anybody that desires sharp photos must have a remote relese system of some sort. This is a great one and its inexpensive. Having your camera on a tripod is only half of the equation - the other half is a remote release to keep you from introducing vibrations when you touch the camera release button. "It's a remote shutter release. Great product and essential for long exposures and long lenses especially if you are not using VR.
