"This is the fastest (and probably the best) lens for the money. You'll have to get used to using your sneakers to zoom if you've lived by zoom lenses. The cons are the same you get with any fixed focal length lens however the pros are there too. I find this lens remarkably sharp at ALL f/stops. It really is remarkably sharp at f/1.8. "Great little lens, but doesn't have auto focus for anyone with a camera such as a D40, or D60...you need to have the focus in the camera. I knew this when I bought it, and for the price it still works great. A little tricky to focus manually, and nearly impossible to focus at 1.8, but works great at with a smaller aperture.
