Slightly Disapointed

"I puchased this for a D40 body I bought. I find that the autofocus is slow (~2S TO MOVE THROUGH FOCUS RANGE) My previous Pentax K100D Super ran through the focus range in ~1S. The lens does not come with a hood, and is more suseptable to flare than I think it should be.
