"This unit required some Registry adjustments in order for Windows XP and LightScribe to consistently recognize the drive. The correct actions were provided in the LightScribe FAQs. A very minor note: For some reason Memorex has supplied a front power-on light that amounts to a bright blue headlight shining in my workspace. THIS PRODUCT CAUSED A DISASTER!

"I bought this unit to add a DVD burner to my Acer laptap. I read the instructions which told me to uninstall Roxio if I had used it. As instructed, I removed Roxio from my Acer. I installed the drivers for the Memorex and then tried to re-boot the Acer as I was told to do. I WAS NEVER ABLE TO REBOOT THE ACER! I called Memorex and was told this was a "known issue"!!!
