"The Marantz CC4001 is a very good sounding CD changer. I have previously used an Onkyo and Denon CD changer in my 2 channel system. The Denon's sound was almost equal to the Marantz, the Onkyo nowhere near. (The Onkyo is currently hooked up to my AV receiver via it's digital out where it does a good job as transport). "Recognizes all manner of home-burned CDs, including a CD with mixed wav and mp3 formats. Changer is reasonably fast and quiet. Everything would be wonderful if it had not decided to stop returning CDs after only two weeks of use, progressing to becoming completely confused,reporting all five trays full when they're empty, and entering permanent error mode at startup. "This has been a good CD player so far. I haven't found any big drawbacks. The sound is good. I haven't tried to play all formats yet, only CD's, but it plays CD-R's without a problem.
