A nice addition

"We have an old Bogen tripod and massive ball head that weights a ton, I got a monopod and this mini to see if they would be a good lightweight substitution. They are great, now I plan on adding a lightweight carbon fiber tripod and another mini so that we can leave the dinosaur at home...." Read Full Review »

It is said that it can hold steady a camera with lens that is up to 11 lbs. My camera (Canon 5D Mark II) and my biggest lens (Canon 300mm f/4.0 IS USM telephoto), whith the hood not even fully extended, seems too heavy for the ball to settle in the position I want it t..." "It's not an ArcaSwiss or anything exotic, but it's a great value. Solid build quality, and the ball doesn't move when it's being tightened. Probably the best you can get, without spending $100 or $200 more. RC2 mount is great for DSLRs. I just mounted mine on a Manfrotto 680B monopod, and it's a …"  Read Full Review »

"Birding, wildlife, limited panorama, general tripod shooting.

Use with Canon 100-400mm and Sigma 50-500mm

Well constructed, holds tightly yet can be loosened to allow small changes.

Swivel base is a definite plus.

I use it in conjunction with other Bogen heads with the RC2 quick release. …"  Read Full Review »
