"I use the 1000 to control all of my home theater gear- 8 black boxes + a DLP TV. It does a great job and was very easy to set up. This one replaced a Harmony 890 (dropped it on a tile floor one too many times), so that might have made it easier for me than for a first time user. "I got this remote for my birthday so I hadnt done the homework that I usually do when I buy an expensive gadget.
