"Brainless installation with SATA. Works GREAT! Plug-n-Play for real! Housing is a uni-build for IDE but READ THE BOOKLET! NO! SATA doesn't use jumpers. You may need the power adapter for Molex/SATA. "I setup this drive up in my computer which uses a ASUS P5N-D mother board with WIN XP Pro. The drive didn't register. I took everything out and reinstaled it again, still no luck. I then re-instaled my old CD drive. It didn't register! I tried another CD drive. It didn't register. Long story short, my Win XP drivers for CD players are now corrupted. "Just dont like it, its buggy and sticks searching sometime. Good for viewing and installing programs is all. The write functions are slow imo, and it seems it always wants to format the disk or this may be vista, not sure I am new vista user. "
