"This DVD drive was a replacement for a drive that failed in a nearly new HP computer. I worked in electronics for many years,but I retired 9 years ago and have become a bit obsolete,so I was concerned about getting the drive up and running especially after my computer failed to recognize the new drive. "Easy to install, and the drive worked fine out of the box. However, I had problems with the bundled "Nero Essentials 7." I recommend downloading one of the free DVD-burner programs, like StarBurn. Once I installed that, the burner worked perfectly. "

"This is a great burner. Cheap, fast and dependable. This thing is so quiet it caused me to stare at it because I thought it was broke. Zero coasters this far, plus it burns almost everything. Definetely a good purchase. "
