The Linksys Wireless-G Router for 3G/UMTS Broadband is really three devices in one box. First- there's the Wireless Access Point- which lets you connect both screaming fast Wireless-G (802.11g at 54Mbps) and Wireless-B (802.11b at 11Mbps) devices to the network. There's also a built-in 4-port full-duplex 10/100 Switch to connect your wired-Ethernet devices together. Connect four PCs directly- or attach more hubs and switches to create as big a network as you need. The Router function ties it all together and lets your whole network share a 3G/UMTS or GPRS Internet connection (requires Vodafone Mobile Connect 3G/UMTS data card- available separately). You can also use a standard Ethernet attached Internet connection- like a cable or DSL modem- if available. Once your computers are connected to the Router and the Internet- they can communicate with each other too- sharing document files- a printer- storage space- and other resources. To protect your data and privacy- the Wireless-G Router for 3G/UMTS Broadband can encode all wireless LAN transmissions with WEP or industrial-strength WPA Personal encryption. The Router can serve as a DHCP Server- has a powerful SPI firewall to protect your PCs against intruders and most known Internet attacks- and supports VPN pass-through. Configuration is a snap with the web browser-based configuration utility. With the Wireless-G Router for 3G/UMTS Broadband- you can create a secure wireless network with Internet connectivity- anywhere that 3G/UMTS or GPRS service is available.

great for mobile access...

"I use this router in an RV and at a mountain house were installing dsl is not cost effective. Nice to have mobile wifi when multiple clients require internet access. Set up via start up disk did not work but configuration via web interface was easy and feature rich. Works on AT&T network in the US.

"This router will work with the Sierra AirCard 875 on the AT&T network. It has a problem delivering full 3G speed however. I cannot get over 900Kb/sec even when parked 400 ft. from the tower. Plugged into the computer, I get 2.8Mb/sec speed, same location.
