"I didn't know the first thing about wireless router, and wireless cards until a few days ago. I just moved into a location that offers broadband internet service, and needed to connect 4 cpu's. 1 desktop vista cput, 1 desktop xp, 1 laptop vista, and another laptop with xp. "Despite extensive troubleshooting (3 hrs combined, independently and with phone support), 802.11b cards could not connect to unit. Linksys tech support now comes in two flavours: Security Risk (pay us $10, and we'll remotely connect to your computer and set this up for you); or Useless (45 min. of going through plainly unrelated steps, to the grand finale of my getting hung up on)..." "We had a combination modem/DSL router that we got from Verizon. When my girlfriend got a job with Comcast we dropped Verizon on the count of the whole FREE thing. Comcast doesn't offer a modem/router, so after some quick research we decided to buy this product based on needs, price and reviews.

"I stopped by J&R's site to check the price on this router for a quick comparison and saw the only two reviews were very negative (to say the least). So, to help any other prospective buyers, here is my take.
