"Pros Very easy to set up...instructions were easy to follow and I didn't lose too much performance by using a router. Performance is hard to gauge because of internet congestion from your ISP but I usually run at 6.5mb/s download on a connection that has a max of of 8...not bad for a shared connection. "I have owned three Linksys BEFSX42 Firewall Routers over the years. The first died of natural causes after about two years of service. The second was the victim of electricide -- I threw it away. And this latest example of my slow learning curve is that it, too, died of natural causes within two weeks of installation.
