"So I made the mistake of buying this without noting that it was sata and not IDE, but that was my fault. Ended up putting it in another machine and it works great. I'm not doing much with it though. "I haven't used it to burn anything yet, so I can't comment on that. What I can comment on is that it doesn't seem to put out audio when playing DVDs. Not sure if it's the bundled software of the player itself, but either way it's not a good thing and I've been reading the same complaint on the manufacturers website.
