"I purchased the mini Home Edition for both its internet access capabilities and network capabilities. I did not want to be reliant on a USB plug. I wanted all my computers on my network to have access. I wanted to be able to access my files when I am out (through the HipServ program and FTP). And that's exactly what the product delivers. "I was looking for a 500GB external drive and chose this because of the added benefit of a network drive where I could backup and transfer files between home and work. Setup was fast and easy, but connecting to the drive is frustratingly slow, even when I'm backing up from my computer 1 foot away WITH the USB connection into my router.
