Beautiful, quiet and fast

"Manufacturer provided software is a hindrance unless you want one partition and intend to use the provided back up software which can apparently only be used to back up on LaCie drives.If the provided online backup is installed it really tries to push you to use it.(Free for one year costs you after that) On the positive side the drive is beautiful, silent and holds a plentiful amount of data. you do lose about ..." "I had another LaCie 350gb drive for 3 years. Loved it never had any problems. Got the 1tb in august, backed up the 350 to it along with some other photos. Worked great, smooth transfer etc. Plug it in today, Nov. 10, and my macbookpro nor my work powerbookG4 would recognize it, asking if I wanted to initialize it. "I have 3 of these for data back up. Less than one year after buying, 2 of the 3 drives are dead. Thank god I had my doubts and double backed up. It's internal Seagate and Western Digital for me from here on out. "
