"I've used both this drive and the faster 7200rpm version. Both drives have proven very handy for portable use. No reliability issues to speak of. While they are bus powered, which is very nice, you may sometimes need to plug in the second USB power-only cable to provide extra juice to run the drive. Drive lost all data, got too hot to touch

"Beware of this drive. I hooked it up to my Airport extreme USB port for wireless access. I stored all my programs that I use infrequently on it. Needed to free up some GB on my internal HD.
