FEATURES- IronKey Personal Secure Flash Drive- 8GB (8192 MB)
If an ordinary flash drive is lost or stolen, it could increase
your chances of identity theft or publicly embarrass your company
by exposing sensitive data and proprietary information.
Now you can use an IronKey to carry your personal or business files
with complete confidence--safeguarding your email, passwords,
photos, financial records and other sensitive or irreplaceable
data. Plus, if your drive is lost or damaged, you can quickly--and
securely--recover all your data from an encrypted backup.
While the Internet has greatly increased the flow of information
between people, most online communications are not transmitted over
a secure, encrypted line. And, as Internet technologies become
increasingly complicated, it is more and more difficult to control
the distribution of your personal information while you surf the
Web.
Now military-grade security and stealth browsing privacy are
available to everyone. The IronKey was made to be both secure and
private, especially when used with IronKey's Secure Sessions
Service--a highly secure and private tunnel through the public
Internet.
Your IronKey is literally packed with the latest and most secure
encryption technologies, all enabled by the powerful onboard
Cryptochip. Rather than employing "homegrown" cryptographic
algorithms that have not undergone rigorous cryptoanalysis, IronKey
follows industry best practices and uses only well-established and
thoroughly tested cryptographic algorithms.
All of your data on the IronKey drive is encrypted in hardware using
AES CBC-mode encryption.
* Military-Grade Encryption
IronKey secure flash drives are unlike any flash drive you've ever seen.
The result of years of research and development, IronKey packs an
advanced, military-grade Cryptochip into each device for automatic,
always-on protection whenever--and wherever--you use your IronKey drive.
The Cryptochip scrambles your data with encryption algorithms that are
so strong, they are approved for protecting sensitive government and
Department of Defense data. The IronKey also resists advanced
cyberattacks with its state-of-the-art key management. Security geeks
should learn more about IronKey's security architecture.
Also, the IronKey Cryptochip was created using the latest nanometer-
scale semiconductor technology, so it encrypts your data at ultra-high
speed--virtually as fast as your computer writes files to a conventional
drive.
* High-Security Made Simple
To unlock your IronKey, all you need to remember is your password. You
plug your IronKey drive into your computer's USB port, enter your
password, and only then can you access your private files. A thief would
only get a few attempts to guess your password before the built-in
Cryptochip locks him out. Only you can unlock your drive and access your
files.
There is no software or drivers to install, so you can bring your drive
with you and use it on almost any PC. All you need to remember is your
password.
* Secure Backup
If your IronKey is lost or stolen, you have peace of mind knowing that
your confidential information cannot be seen by anyone but you. And
getting your data back is simple with IronKey's Secure Backup software
and services, which securely restore your data to a new IronKey.
Unlike other backup systems, IronKey Secure Backup is designed for the
ultimate in data protection and privacy. Your data is encrypted to your
local computer with ultra-strong encryption keys. No one can decrypt
your data without your password.
* Securing Your Passwords
Instead of creating a "password file" on your computer or using the same
password for everything, have your IronKey store and remember your
passwords. With its strong, hardware-encrypted storage (based on the
unique IronKey Cryptochip), it can securely store your sensitive online
identity information, including usernames, passwords, credit card
numbers and addresses. It can even generate strong passwords for you, so
that you can really lock down your online accounts.
That way, you can safely carry all your passwords and Internet identity
information with you wherever you go, and you only have to remember one
password.
* Crimeware Protection
Your IronKey includes a suite of security software, including IronKey's
Password Manager and a secured version of the Firefox web browser. The
IronKey Password Manager connects to the onboard browser, or to Internet
Explorer on your computer, automatically filling in your saved passwords
so you can log directly into your online accounts. Not having to type
out your passwords provides added protection from keyloggers and other
crimeware.
When used in conjunction with IronKey's Secure Sessions Service, you get
additional anti-phishing and anti-pharming protection, as well as
encrypted web communications.
* Secure Password Backup
IronKey's Password Manager also integrates with IronKey's Secure Backup
Service, an industry first of hardware, software, and service integrated
for all-around password protection. Your passwords are encrypted and
backed up to your Online Security Vault using our state-of-the-art
encrypted backup technology. Synchronize password data between IronKeys,
or, if your IronKey is ever lost or stolen, securely restore all your
passwords to a new IronKey. Only you can access and decrypt your
passwords.
So now you can have your IronKey create and remember strong passwords
for you, automatically log into your online accounts with a click of a
button, and back up and restore your passwords so you are never without
them.
* Portability with Privacy
You can run portable applications directly from your IronKey secure
flash drive without leaving personally identifiable information behind
on the computer. For example, you can carry the Firefox web browser with
you, including all your bookmarks, plug-ins and settings, and use it on
almost any PC--all without leaving a footprint or passwords on the
computer. This may be particularly important when you are using a public
computer, such as at school, the library, or a hotel's business center.
Additionally, the onboard browser has been secured and is fully
accessible only after you unlock your IronKey, ensuring that access is
only available to you. It integrates with the IronKey Password Manager
so you can securely and automatically log into your online accounts
wherever you go.
* High-Speed Web Security
If you want to surf the Web safely and privately, use your IronKey. With
just a click of a button, the onboard Firefox browser enables IronKey's
Secure Sessions Service for high-speed, encrypted Internet
communications. You can safely tunnel through insecure wireless
networks, public Wi-Fi hotspots, and prying ISPs without worry because
your traffic will be encrypted and directed through a secure IronKey
server. Also, your IP address, geographic location, and other personally
identifiable information will be protected as you pass through the Tor
network, which IronKey has extended and optimized for speed and
security.
If you ran a Web browser from a regular flash drive, you may end up
burning out the memory chips. This is because most flash drives use
inexpensive flash memory. But the IronKey uses super high-quality SLC
NAND flash memory for extended data longevity. These chips have been
optimized for speed, giving you a smooth Web experience.
* Security and Privacy by Design
As with all of IronKey's online services, the Secure Sessions Service
was designed from the ground up with your security and privacy in mind.
Our high-speed Tor servers identify only that you are an IronKey
customer, but not who you are. Finally, a way to surf the Web safely and
privately from practically anywhere--and all without leaving a footprint
on the computer.
* Encryption Keys
The encryption keys used to protect your data are generated in hardware
by a FIPS 140-2 compliant True Random Number Generator on the IronKey
Cryptochip. This ensures maximum protection via the encryption ciphers.
The keys are generated in the Cryptochip when you initialize your
IronKey, and they never leave the secure hardware to be placed in flash
memory or on your computer.
* Always-On Encryption
Because your IronKey implements data encryption in the hardware
Cryptochip, all data written to your drive is always encrypted. There is
no way to accidentally turn it off or for malware or criminals to
disable it. Also, it runs many times faster than software encryption,
especially when storing large files or using the on-board portable
Firefox browser.
* Two-Factor Authentication
Beyond simply protecting the privacy of your data on the IronKey flash
drive, the IronKey Cryptochip incorporates advanced Public Key
Cryptography ciphers that allow you to lock down your online IronKey
account. That way you must have your IronKey device, in addition to your
password, to access your online account. This highly complex process
runs behind the scenes, giving you state-of-the-art protection from
phishers, hackers and other online threats.

Standard issue for key personnel at my company now

★★★★★

"I purchased my first Iron Key, the 2MB model, on a lark. It seemed 'way cool' - military grade encryption in a brushed metal finish... I was like a kid on December 23rd while I was waiting for it to arrive. It did not disappoint.

The key features:
