Does it do the job? Yes. However...

"Does this DVR Expander do the job? An emphatic YES it does. During the Olympics in Beijing, I kept running out of disk space on my Time Warner DVR. I lost out on recording a lot of my favorite programs because of no room in the Inn. However, the drive is a little noisy. Maybe it's the drive. Maybe it's the fan. Don't know. "Before you buy this, make certain you check with your service provider. Despite Iomega's press release for this device which specifically mentions Blue Ridge under "Compatibility", Blue Ridge does not support expander drives. "Took a total of less than 15 minutes to install. About 5 minutes to attach all of the cables; 10 minutes to wait for the DVR to reboot. Had it only for a couple of weeks. No more need to determine prior to recording a show, if I have enough space left on the DVR. "
