"I've tried several different 26" televisions over the last few months, from other DVD combo units from Toshiba and LG to "DVD-less" units from Samsung and Sharp. "I have a HD DirecTv receiver and want to just plug in the HDMI cable and leave it at that so I don't have a rats nest behind the tv. Every time I turn the tv on, it only turns on to the DVD player signal. I find out through Insignia customer service that in order to turn the tv on to the DirecTv signal, you must have an analog signal into the "TV" input. "Picture quality is on par with name brand TVs of the same size. There are almost too many inputs. The DVD player is somewhat slow to load and a bit noisy compared to a full-size stand-alone DVD player but is very fast at responding to inputs like fast-forward or rewind.
