"My daughter and I purchased this our first HDTV as a Christmas gift for my wife. We were limited to 26 inches due to the entertainment system made of solid oak purchased years ago. The widescreen is a choice to watch videos in wide format or full screen. The TV has a zoom feature for you to fill the screen. My cable zoom stretches the image so I don't use the cable zoom.
