"I bought these speakers to beef up the sound on my netbook. For that they are great. They are powered from a USB port. Fot a speaker used with a portable computer this is a must have feature. "The sound quality of these speakers, for their size, is really good. The downside is that it isn't exactly simple to get them to work through the USB interface. This is probably not the fault of the speakers but of the particular OS involved. I work in tech support and I haven't been able yet to get them to work through USB in XP, Vista, Mac OS 10.4 or 10.5.
