"Being deployed to Iraq, you have very little space to yourself. You need to confind everything you brought with you to take up as little space as possible. I bought the XB4 docking station just for this reason. The 2.1 surround sound speakers are best when you are living in a CHU (cilivan housing unit) for a year. "I was very pleased with this docking station for the first year, after which the thing fell apart piece by piece. First I noticed that the speakers stopped working -- it was cheaper not to worry about it. Then this fall I discovered that the backup hard drive that I bought to fit specifically in my docking station had stopped working in June (this was after my computer crashed--at least I had an extended warrant..." "I had to upgrade from a XB2000 since my New Laptop wasn't compatible and HP don't make an adapter.
HP People should make things easier for people who already have existing Docking Stations to be compatible for each port connections. That was my Main problem is having to sell the Xb2000 to get a XB4.

"Nice docking station. Articulating shelf makes adjustments easy.
HP should tell you that it has no power supply. You have to use the computer power cord. (earlier models included a power chord). If you don't want to lug your power cord from home to office, be sure to buy an extra.
