Nothing really smart about it

"As I type this, I am watching the power fade in and out on my HP dv9000 notebook, due to the 5th HP 90W AC adapter I've purchased. This one lasted a whole 2 months. The first power cord I bought as a replacement, 2 years ago, worked for 10 months. That one is not the current model that has been offered for the past year or so.
