"I bought this to replace the original eyepiece that came with my Canon EOS Rebel XSi/450D, and I'm glad I did. With the original eyepiece, at times it was too bright to get a good look at what you were shooting at; however, with the Hoodeye, it helps cup your eye and block out extra light. "

Eye cup obstructs view of LCD screen

"The lower portion of the eye cup obstructs your view of the upper portion of the LCD screen. In addition I did not find that the eyecup covered my eye well and I am removing it and replacing with the original rubber piece. "
