"Plugged it in and windows installed it, but the windows driver didn't work every time I sent a fax. So I uninstalled and installed the driver from the CD that came with it. It worked every time there after. The software leaves something to be desired, but then they offer you an upgrade dont they for about 59 bucks. Nonetheless for the price, you cant beat it...." "I had absolute hell trying to get this modem to work on my windows 98SE operating system but after 4 hours of frustration, countless freezes, nearly about to return it, I eventually got it to work. My connection speed went from 28.8 kbps on my old V90 modem to 36 kbps on this V92 modem. Dont even attempt to install this if you are short on time or dont have an afternoon to kill. "I tried to install it on my xp machine,but had difficulty making it work. I juggled my modems and put it on a 98se box instead and it worked well.
Most people have had the opposite experience vis a vis xp/98.
