The Harman Kardon(R) AVR 154 is all about getting connected. It features three HDMI(TM) inputs, two wide-bandwidth HDTV-ready component video inputs, four S-video inputs, a front-panel input for video games, an auxiliary input for portable media players, and a portfolio of advanced surround processing technologies, including Dolby(R) Digital, DTS(R) and Logic 7(R) processing. "I would recomend the AVR154 to anyone with a small to medium listening area looking for a good basic receiver with good clean sound. Don't be put off by the modest power specs as Harmon Kardon seems to rate their products conservatively. My listening area is 17' X 24' and the AVR154 has no problem filling the space with sound. If you need true HDMI switching, look elsewhere.

"Bought this specific receiver because I needed the ability to switch 3 HDMI inputs. What I discovered after 45 minutes of aggravation which lead to reading the manual is that the HDMI inputs are simply for video pass-through to the TV. The receiver is not capable of processing the Audio information through HDMI. Instead, 3 of the Digital audio inputs must be used. Analog audio inputs can not be used with the HDM..." "Very nice looking & sounding receiver. I replaced an Onkyo receiver with this one and my Bose Acoustimass 10 sounds alot better now. Music sounds amazing. Movies and TV Shows sound very good. It seems to be slightly less powerful than the Onkyo, but still has enough for average living room. "
