Does what it says at a great price!

"Put the 9V. battery, connect the preamp between the turntable (know what that is?) and the PC using a "y" connector with 2 RCA's and a 3.5mm banana jack a the other (extra accessory cable), launch "Audacity" (free at http://audacity.sourceforge.net) and you are cooking. So simple, even I can do it... The sound quality is good but bear in mind that it will not make a worn LP sound new, and that I could not pass ..." Read Full Review »

Recommended for anyone handy with tools.

"No instructions, but after tinkering with it I found and removed the two screws that hold the cover on. Battery goes inside. Once that was done, the item worked fine. Very small amount of distortion on some very high notes, probably because there's no "de-emphasis circuit" (as I remember it being called), but otherwise sounds goood...." Read Full Review »

"This unit take a nine volt battery. It has a port to accept a 9 volt AC/DC power adapter but does not come with one. The port is an odd size so it is difficult to find one also. Once installed as one my system it is hard to access to change the batteries. You really should have a power adapter. "

"My only criticism of this pre-amp is that I didn't read the description closely enough. It is battery operated. It does have a connection for DC power, but you have to buy your own power adapter.

On the positive end, set up is extremely easy and it works! "

"The quality of the product is quite poor, there was some static noise, sounded like it's picking up 60 HZ from the mains.

The product just screams "Made to be the cheapest" "

"Seems like GE is unaware of their own product...not on their website, no tech sheets supplied to vendor. If you miss the tiny on/off switch, you may think it doesn't work, but it does, at about the same level as a built-in pre-amp. "
