"This is an excellent general-purpose metal detector. I did a lot of homework before I purchased and this is the best beginner's metal detector for the money - hands down. I was able to find coins right away. I have used it for 1.5 years. Inexpensive, but beware

"A well-built and designed machine, light and easy to swing, but this detector will take quite a bit of time to learn to use WELL, especially if you've used other detectors in the past. The pinpointing feature is the most difficult to learn, and not accurate enough to really be called pinpointing.
