NICE UNIT!

"Very nice esp. coming from a E-Trex Vista this is a superb little unit. If you thing is Geocaching it works great. I use mine for tracking while ATVing and it is perfect for that as well. I like to think of the Oregon as the do all machine. One thing to think about if you trying to decide between the 300 or the 400t go with the 300 as you can buy the same mapping software as the 400t (only diff between the 2) an..." Read Full Review »

Below average for Garmin, What happened?

"I ended up returning this unit and going back to my 60CSX. The 60CSX is slower because of the buttons, however, it's far more accurate and reliable than the Oregon. What happened Garmin? I expected better out of Garmin for [$]. Hopefully Garmin will live up to their name for their next new line of GPS's. Many of the features offered by Delorme's new unit blows away the Oregon. I would not recommend upgradi..." Read Full Review »

"I'm a long time user of the Garmin GPS. I recently decided to upgrade from the etrex Vista CX to the Oregon 300. After having the Oregon for less than a week I've decided to take it back to REI for a refund. Here are my observations on the Oregon series:

- The backlight is inferior to the etrex Vi …"  Read Full Review »

"I feel bad for the first user. I used this unit hunting in Washington. It never lost signal, in fact it held several satellites 100% of the time, including in the car surounded by 80-100 ft trees. The menu was intuitive and simple to understand.

My only concern with the unit is that the screen may …"  Read Full Review »

"I traded in my 400t simply because this unit allows the user to manipulate and interface with maps. The 400t comes preloaded with TOPO maps that you will have to buy with this unit but those that choose the 300 will be able to use Mapsource software to plan and record trips on your pc. "
