Portable and affordable, nüvi 205 is your personal travel assistant for life on the go. This navigator leads the way with turn-by-turn directions and optional MSN Direct(R) services to get you there on time and keep you informed. Navigate With Ease
nüvi 205 comes preloaded with City Navigator(R) NT map data for the contiguous U.S., Hawaii & Puerto Rico (no Alaska). Simply touch the color screen to enter a destination, and nüvi takes you there with turn-by-turn voice directions, 2-D or 3-D maps and smooth map updates as you navigate. Its digital elevation maps show you shaded contours at higher loom levels, giving you a big picture of the surrounding terrain. In addition, nüvi 205 accepts custom points of interest (POIs), such as school zones and safety cameras and lets you set proximity alerts to warn you of upcoming POIs. With HotFix(TM) satellite prediction, nüvi calculates your position faster to get you there quicker.

Like the rest of the nüvi 2x5-series, nüvi 205 sports a sleek, slim design and fits comfortably in your pocket or purse. Its rechargeable lithium-ion battery makes it convenient for navigation by car or foot. With its "Where Am I?" emergency locator, you always know your location. Simply tap the screen to get your exact latitude and longitude coordinates, the nearest address and intersection, and the closest hospitals, police stations and fuel stations.

Go Beyond Navigation
Navigation is just the beginning. nüvi 205 includes many travel tools including JPEG picture viewer, world travel clock with time zones, currency converter, measurement converter, calculator and more. With photo navigation, you can download Google(TM) Panoramic pictures via our Garmin Connect Photos website and navigate to them. The 205 is compatible with optional enhanced MSN(R) Direct content and our free Garmin Garage where you can download animated vehicles that show your location on the map. It also comes with Garmin Lock(TM), an anti-theft feature. Enhance your travel experience with optional plug-in microSD cards such as Garmin Travel Guides for detailed data on attractions.

With easy to use touchscreen displays, both models can route to addresses, restaurants, hotels and more with turn by turn directions and voice guidance. nuvi 205 will say Turn right in 500 feet, while nuvi 255 will include text to speech which will prompt you to Turn right on Main Street. New appealing features include MSN Direct compatibility, HotFix, Garmin Connect Photos, digital elevation maps, automatic time zone updates and smoother map updates. Nuvi 205 and nuvi 255 are compatible with Garmin?s optional MSN Direct receiver /GDB 55. This new MSN Direct receiver provides premium content such as traffic updates, weather, gas prices, enhanced movie listings, stock info, news, local events and a send to GPS feature for trip planning. This accessory will be available third quarter of 2008. Nuvi 205 is the most affordable option, with mapping coverage of the lower 48 states, Hawaii and Puerto Rico. It offers five million points of interest, including hotels, restaurants, gas stations, ATMs and attractions. nuvi 255 has broader map coverage it comes preloaded with City Navigator NT road maps for North America1 and six million points of interest. The map data for both units is provided by NAVTEQ, a world leader in premium quality mapping. "i use the nuvi 205 everyday in my delivery van. i find it easy to use even while driving. it has all the features that a casual user would need at a great price. i dont agree with the last reviewer, my gps always recalculates new routes quickly and it does not try to make you go back to the original route. "This is one of those "BAD" models. I've owned many Garmin products over many years and was a sales rep with REI, but in my opinion this model has a horrible software problem.
