"I have been using it for past three years with no problems, including some crashes too.I do keep lanyard wrapped around handlebars just in case, but it never came loose. As someone mentioned earlier not all batteries are same length so watch out for those shorter ones. And yes the battery door it comes with will not fit all models. "The Garmin eTrex bicycle mount does not work with the Garmin eTrex Vista HCx (and other newer eTrex GPS). You need to buy the Garmin "rail mount adapter kit" instead (around $11).
