The 500GB G-Drive Combo USB 2.0 and FireWire-400 External Hard Drive from G-Technology is a high-capacity external hard drive. It features an interface that allows it to be connected via USB 2.0 or FireWire-400, and a rotation speed of 7200 rpm.The drive is housed in a durable external casing that features a unique "fan-less" cooling system for quiet operation. The drive will look right at home sitting on top of your Mac Pro. The drive is capabale of sustained data transfer rates of 33MB/sec using USB 2.0 and 38MB/sec using FireWire-400, making it an excellent solution for video editing, high resolution imaging, data backup, or general storage.

"This is one of two G-Drives that I own. I bought it to increase the speed of editing and outputting DV and HD video. The drive is reliable and as well built. Because of those features, I've consolidated the contents of other smaller external drives onto this, and the larger 1TB G-Drive. "
