"Well, well, well. A no-name brand LCD television for $200; there's gotta be a catch, right? There is now catch to this TV. Dynex is a brand owned by Best Buy, much like Insignia. Alright, it's a second-party TV, but how does it fair? The picture isn't too good up close, but about 2.5ft away, it starts to look crisper and clearer. "This TV is an unusual 16:10 aspect ratio, not 16:9 as normal flat screen TVs today are. This means it either will have black bars on top and bottom of widescreen broadcasts and DVDs, or you can choose to expand the image to full screen, which cuts off part of the picture on the sides. 16:10 is actually the resolution used in computer monitors and is much more square than 16:9 which is the TV/cinema standard. "I was prepared to spend much more for my 1st LCD TV. After looking at a number of LCD TV's in Best Buy, I found the picture quality on the Dynex to be equal or better to much more expensive units. I was also able to get the Dynex for $189 as an open box item.
