"This card is great..! I had bought it to connect my desktop (Windows XP SP3) to the Denon 3808CI AV receiver. I was hell bent on getting a digital feed from my songs purchased at Apples ITunes store and this was the least expensive and most effect manner. "problems: 1- sound stopped for 1/2 second every 4 or 5 seconds when using the toslink optical connection 2- no 7.1 when using optical connection. Sound output limited to 5.1 3- digital glitch sound produced intermitantly when using the non-digital speaker output cable jacks. 4- Diamond tech support is useless. 5- had to return the product...." "From what I can tell, this card will not ''accept'' a 5.1 signal. Given a DVD or a .VOB file encoded in 5.1, it just takes it and makes its own surround mix.
