"I use the DCM-290 as part of my main living room system - it is paired with an Onkyo TX-SR605. For this use, it's better to use the onboard DAC and go with high quality interconnects, rather than send the digital to the receiver. "Over-engineered; too many generally useless options. No better sound than 21 yr old denon, which finally failed. Last night I loaded 3 discs; it played one and quit until intervention.
