I went from 512 MB of Memory to 2 GB of Memory on my Dell Optiplex GX620 and the difference was like night and day. I was running Windows XP SP2. XP was much faster with the additioinal memory. I am now dual booting operating systems as I have loaded Ubuntu Linux which appears to be much faste

"Pros
Inexpensive upgrade that allows you to do more before the system starts swapping to disk.
Cons
Price has doubled in the past month - I got two sets for $74 (after 7% home user discount). As mentioned, a little stiff pushing into the sockets, but not terribly difficult.
