"I purchased 3 of these units at Black Friday in 07 from Staples. The 1st unit died on Thanksgiving 08 and the 2nd unit Christmas 08. Both appear to have a bad battery. Both units were plugged in and on normal power when both units just turned off on the battery side only. The AC/Surge side still operates.
