"Here's how I use the timer features: 1. For group photos that I'm in: 10 second initial delay so I can get myself into the shot, then 3-7 pictures (depending on the group) with 3-5 second delays in-between. Assuming that you're going to take a handful of shots in the first place is *so* much easier than going back to start the camera's self-timer again, then getting back into the picture. 2. For long (bu..." Read Full Review »

"If you're looking for a simple remote trigger look elsewhere. If you're after a tool to help with very long exposures or time lapse this is the tool. Sadly it is much larger than it needs to be, far too expensive and it has no way of shutting it off. The only way to conserve battery life is to remove the battery. Does it do what it claims? Yes. I think this item should be re-engineered to have a smaller ..." Read Full Review »

"I'm a huge fan of long exposures and I've loved using plain tethered remotes on all my Canon cameras over the years (5D, 20D, 300D, A-1, AV-1, AE-1). This controller goes so far beyond a simple remote switch. I can't believe I've gone without this level of functionality up until now. All those long …" Read Full Review »

"You can't get a sharper photo than with your camera sitting on a tripod and using a remote shutter release. Especially with those slow shutter speeds.
The 2.6 foot cord is long enough for me in most cases. Any longer and it would just be in the way. You can get an extension, but it's not cheap.

"It's a timer. Simple to use, as it should be, and it does the job. That's all. And that is what "success" looks like to me.
The only thing I do not like about it---and why I gave it 4 starts instead of 5---is the feel of the buttons, but I'll get used to that.
Also, it's weird not having

"Often, while I'm shooting nightscapes, I am required to keep the shutter open for longer than 30 seconds. However, my cameras (5DI, 30D) require me to manually hold the shutter button down for exposures longer than 30 seconds - a mild pain in the butt. This is a cure for the manual shutter 30 second …" Read Full Review »
