If you ever change tapes you have to run head cleaner each time you mix and match brands to ensure a good record. "My XH-A1 camera is used for Daily News reports and Documentaries. The Canon HDV tape is really great. Pity about the cost, but it's like buying quality shoes - they last much longer and look great. "I use this product in conjunction with my Canon XH-A1 and get fabulous results. I would not use any other tape in my vidso camera other than original Canon tapes and have heard that you should not switch from one brand to another as it would have a negative effect on your equipment. "
