"I have been using grid screen for the last 10 years. They are great for helping to keep the hortizon level as well as set the proportions of an image to fit within a 4x5 format (e.g., 16x20).

"I decided to change to this focusing screen to solve a problem I had getting true verticals in camera due to distortion through the viewfinder because of the shape of the lenses in my glasses.
The added benefit of the grid is it serves well as a composition guide.
