"External portable hard drives especially require this cable to function correctly because of the USB port current limit. I am very pleased with the heavier cable construction and reinforcement protection at the cable junction point. Quality color coded connectors allow for the cable to remain attached to the computer and plug in the correct added power connector when needed freeing up a USB port...." Read Full Review »

"Item came as described, although there was no mention of how long the cables were after the split. Unfortunately, due to the fact that the two USB ports are on opposite sides of the 15" PowerBook G4, it's not the solution for me. I can only access one USB port at a time...therefore, not enough power to run my external hard drive...." Read Full Review »

"Great cable for use on removable HD on a 17" Powerbook except the arms of the Y aren't long enough to stretch across both sides of the laptop where the two USB ports are. I would also be interested in a micro USB Y cable for the same application. "
