CONTACT for the Nintendo DS has nothing to do with the Jodie Foster movie of the same name. Instead, Atlus? CONTACT is an RPG that features old school 8-bit and 16-bit graphics while adding new and innovative features that make CONTACT look like a standard RPG on the surface while really being much, much more. The game begins with a strange professor hard at work on something. He talks directly to the player, rattling off a series of questions, then hinting that something ominous is about to happen and that he is being chased by some mysterious group. Shortly thereafter, his lab, which is part of a space station, is attacked, and the entire station ends up crashing. Players then get control of a young boy and help the professor escape. The story of CONTACT moves along very quickly, and players are soon sucked into a adventure that spans the universe. Combat in CONTACT is unique in that all players have to do is approach an enemy in combat stance to start attacking them. Special abilities are also available via the trick seal system. Here, the character uses special magic stickers to cast spells on enemies by sticking them to his targets. He also have multiple costumes that grant him different abilities. These costumes range from a ninja to a chief, and each has very unique powers. CONTACT is an innovative and fun RPG that combines an interesting story with the DS?s unique abilities to make a great adventure. Copyright (C) Muze Inc. 2005. For personal use only. "Took ages for me to get the hang of it, then when I did it was not worth the time! No clear way to see where you've explored and the technique to defeat enemies is lame! "
