It plugs into the 12v accessory outlet (cigarette lighter opening) in your car. It measures 8" in length. The shaft of the pedestal is made of a unique metal that can bend into your desired directional placement. Though it is flexible, once you have bent it into place it will not bounce around as it remains stiff. This pedestal DOES NOT provide POWER to your satellite radio.
