"The Dell/Windows XP was getting slower and slower as more and more Windows updates were applied. The machine needed to be rebooted frequently and applications would freeze. "The 24" display on this iMac is fantastic. Really a clear difference in quality from my old 17" imac G5. The 640Gb drive is going to be plenty large for me for a long long time. As for speed there is no comparison between this iMac and the old and slow G5.
