"My HDTV only has on HDMI port, but right now I have 2 and it is a pain to have to switch them manually. I originally bought a 2x HDMI switch from a local game store. "I use this to keep my home theater setup and a Mac Mini connected to an LCD display. It's a nice compact unit and so easy to configure a caveman could do it. The provided remote did not work at first but after some persuading it started changing the input (yes, I removed the battery prophylactic first). "I use to connect HD player and Oppo dvd player to a TH-PH509UK Panasonic Plazma screen which only has one hdmi socket.Works great as a manual switcher.IR does not work in my set-up.I would recommend because of the price, not for the automatic switching. "
