The BE550R Back-UPS ES 8-Outlet 550VA 120V Surge Protector and Battery Backup from APC provides power protection and battery backup for home computer systems. The power strip provides surge protection for all eight devices connected and battery backup for four of them. It yields an average output power capacity of 550 VAC at 330 watts and the battery lasts up to 13.5 minutes at half-load capacity. Flawless

"I use a UPS for PC power filtration and then power backup. PCs last far longer with "pure" and stable electricity with out fluctuation. A hidden advantage of this product is it adds months and some times years to delicate electronics. The power went off last week here and it got a good test. Worked perfectly. At least it works

"It claims 48 minutes but unfortunately that's based on powering a iMAC G4 w/ a 15" LCD. I'm running a Tower PC w/ a 21" CRT. The power went out and I have the software set to shut the computer down when I have 5 mins of power left on battery. It lasted 55 seconds and then shut down my computer.
